Business Acumen Dimension

Within the Business Acumen dimension, one aspect of the model that affected my life the most was the lack of depth of field about the United States. For example, coming to the United States the first time from Venezuela when I was eighteen years old was an unforeseen experience. I felt like I was entering into a new world within the same world. I did not speak English and that in itself was the most challenging task that I have ever faced. Certainly, I knew nothing about the culture or cultures surrounding me while I was living my first years in the U.S. I traveled with misconceptions about Americans and the whole fogged window of the culture.
